Organic Plasticisers for Silicone Sealants

Organic plasticisers for RTV-1 sealants substantially reduce formulation costs and deliver improved rheological characteristics. These advantages must however be qualified against the recurrent problems of increased volume shrinkage and yellowing that result from the use of impure products. TOTAL's extremely pure Hydroseal products minimise the potential disadvantages inherent in the use of an organic plasticiser and are thus an ideal compromise between cost efficiency and technical performance.
